The latest version of Klipfolio Dashboard is now live and available at app.klipfolio.com. For those keeping track, this is version 1.18 and it's the most important release in 2013 so far. Let's take a look at some of the features that make this release so important and how to use these features on your dashboard.
Drill Down
If this release was a rock concert, then drill down would be the headliner. I've already written a blog post about this feature, so I'll keep this short. Basically, drill down allows you to travel through multiple layers of your data to go from a high-level overview to a very specific, detailed view of the data. In the world of software, saying something is "easy to use" is often met with incredulous looks but I assure you, setting up drill down is very straightforward.
Key Resources

Use email attachments as a data source
With all the attention that drill down has been getting, the ability to use your email to set up data sources has flown under the radar. The truth is that this is a core feature that many customers have been asking for, and one that is incredibly useful. To use this feature, all you have to do is retrieve a dedicated email address from Klipfolio, send an attachment to that email, and then wait for Klipfolio to receive that attachment (usually takes about 15 seconds). If you need to update that data source, just re-attach the data file and send it to the same email address.
Key Resources

On-dashboard notifications for failed data sources
This feature does exactly what it sounds like: when a data source fails to update, you will be notified by a red indicator icon on your dashboard. By clicking on the icon, you will be able to see which data sources are causing the issue and view its property page to reconfigure the data source. This means you can always trust that the data on your dashboard is current and up-to-date.
New functions
One of the key strengths of Klipfolio Dashboard is the ability to manipulate data in the Klip Editor. No matter how ugly, unorganized, or chaotic your data looks, there is a way to format and clean that data for use in a Klip. We've added quite a few functions to help make this even easier. Check out the list below to learn how each one can help.
